WEBBWOOD
Webbwood is located 16 kilometers east of Massey. The area was settled by Andrew Webb in 1883. CPR engineers would stop in the settlement to load some of Mr. Webb's wood for their train engine. On May 16, 1906, the village became the Corporation of the Town of Webbwood by authority of an Order in Council.
Canada's first female mayor was elected in Webbwood in 1936. Mrs. Barbara Hanley served for eight consecutive terms, making her the longest serving mayor of Webbwood.
